Seniors
Basic/Intermediate (Hands on shooting)
Most days David Lee is as serious as a soap bubble...but there's method to his madness as you'll soon discover when he takes you through the senior portrait experience. From building expectations and creating the rock star experience to theatrical sets designed around each subject. David's styles of lighting and posing not only score big in competition, they play well at the bank where it really counts. Bring your camera and comfortable shoes ( silly hats are optional but encouraged just the same), this program is a little bit lecture but mostly demonstration and hands on learning. Whether you've been doing senior portraits for a few years and want to ramp it up a bit, or you're just getting started, this is a fun learning experience that includes (but is not limited to):
· Basic rules that are worth keeping and some that are really more or less suggestions.
· Finding common ground with every subject (even the boys who's mom forced them through the door at gunpoint).
· How to change the session from what they think it's going to be, to an experience they'll want to tell their friends about (it's almost like marketing...weird huh?)
· How to get the perfect expression every, single time and why most photographers do this backwards
· How to un-pose your client and have them love the way they look (the secret is a little science called Kinesiology...we break it down for you)
· First make toast and build up to the eight course meal...some fun easy stuff to start with that builds their confidence and gets your creative juices flowing.
· The psychology of viewing...understanding where your brain is hardwired to take your eye whether you want it to or not and how you can used that to your advantage in your images.
· Creative sets designed around your subject . From über simple, to complex theatrical settings, we'll show you where to find what you need without breaking the bank and how to make it look real.
· How to turn one set into two or three just by changing your angle...perspective sets
· One light and beyond...from simple one light and a reflector to 5 or 6 lights, the secret is knowing what to use when. Make your light match your subject instead of making your subject match your light.
· Subtractive lighting and directional light...what might look like a ditch could be one incredibly cool location
· How to turn one good pose into 5 great shots
· Wow that was fun...now what? Post production doesn't have to be dull or keep you up all night. We'll walk you through getting WOW images and the weekends off.
· Seeing is believing...how putting cool products in your clients show will make them want to own them.
· Project...send home...project...send home...project...send home....let's do both...how and why it works for us.
· Why more can be less when it comes to images...or why it's better to show 25-30 incredible images than 50 average ones. Hi, my name is David and I'm an over shooter
· The art of the soft sell...no one feels like you sold them something when it was their idea...we'll show you how to plant the seeds
· Getting people to know you're there, want what you're offering and be willing to give you big piles of money for it (aka Marketing & sales)
· and much, much more....
Please be prepared to bring 3-5 images on CD for friendly critique (no names please), so we know where you're starting from. David also asks that you bring 3 BIG things you really want to learn so we can maximize your learning experience.
